Movie Making 101 Summer Camp Comes to PCA!

Future Hollywood moviemakers and YouTube enthusiasts, prepare to take your video skills to the next level. Petaluma Community Access is offering a unique weeklong “Movie Making 101” camp this summer. Through creative, hands-on exercises, students will learn non-linear video editing utilizing Final Cut Pro, the same state-of-the-art software used to produce many major motion pictures.

Petaluma Community Access is a Petaluma media resource that has been serving the community for the past 16 years by providing the tools, channels, and training programs for local residents to make their own television programs. Executive Director John Bertucci is excited about this new opportunity.

“Besides getting to know other kids with an interest in video production, enrollment in this summer camp includes a trial PCA membership so students can learn about us, enjoy our equipment, and perhaps jump-start an eventual career in television.”

Guest instructor Isaac Lefkowitz adds, “Not only will future filmmakers love this camp but actors and actresses will have a blast too.”

Participants will also learn basic digital camera operation and professional cinematography techniques. After the crash course in editing and shooting, students will film and edit their own projects that will then be featured on PCA Comcast Channel 26 and uploaded to YouTube.

Camp instructor Isaac Lefkowitz is a former television News Reporter and Sports Anchor. For the past five years he has taught similar successful camps in Santa Rosa. “Movie Making 101” Summer Camp is designed for ages twelve through eighteen. Space is limited to just twelve participants at a cost of $250.00. Camp will be held at the Petaluma Community Access facility at 205 Keller Street, Suite 102, Monday, July 23rd through Friday, July 27th from 9am to 2pm. To register your child call PCA at 707-773-3190 or email info@pca.tv for more information. Space is limited, so sign up today!
